Famous Kazakh blogger and actor Meirzhan Turebayev, in his first interview after release, spoke about the reasons for his participation in advertising the financial pyramid Mudarabah Capital. According to him, he trusted the advertisers because of their religious lifestyle, reports infohub.kz.
Recall that Turebayev was sentenced to five years for creating the financial pyramid Mudarabah Capital, although he only advertised the services of this organization. The actor was released in March 2026, but only in August gave a detailed interview to journalist Maya Bekbayeva.
In the interview, Turebayev admitted that he did not check the documents and trusted the advertisers because they seemed deeply religious. "Absolutely everyone there was into religion, everyone read namaz. In the office, all women wore hijabs. Some of them told me: 'Finally, we can help all religious people do halal,'" the actor recalls.
He also said that after his release, he expected condemnation from people, but instead met support: people approached him, hugged him, and the older generation gave blessings. "It hurts me to realize that people lost their money. I paid dearly for this experience: with my freedom, my absence from family, my mother's health. But if my experience has meaning and people learn something useful from it, understand from my example how important it is to check documents of advertisers, I will be glad," noted the husband of Dana Yesseyeva.
Earlier it was reported that Turebayev was allowed one vacation during his imprisonment.
