The United States and Iran traded strikes on Monday, with U.S. military forces targeting an airport in Iranshahr and Tehran retaliating against a U.S. base in Bahrain, according to infohub.kz.

According to RBC, U.S. fighter jets launched missile strikes on several targets in Iran, including the airport in Iranshahr. Reports indicate three explosions occurred near the airfield.

American forces also struck a station in Bandar Abbas. In Khamir County, three bridges were attacked, including the bridge connecting Bandar Abbas to Lar in Fars province. Initial reports said two people were killed and four injured. RIA Novosti reported that the death toll from the U.S. attack on bridges in southern Iran has risen to three.

Iran also struck a U.S. base in Bahrain. "The Islamic Republic's army carried out Arash drone strikes on the helicopter and P-8 aircraft deployment area of the U.S. military at the Sahir base in Bahrain," state television reported. Explosions were also heard in Qatar amid air raid sirens.

The exchange of strikes between the U.S. and Iran came ahead of a NATO summit in Ankara. The White House later said the ceasefire regime had ended, but Washington was willing to negotiate. Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi recently stated that the peace treaty with the U.S. has been terminated.
