Developing transport and logistics infrastructure, strengthening energy capacity and modernizing healthcare have become key priorities of Kazakh President Qasym-Jomart Toqaev's address, "Current Tasks for Kazakhstan in a New Historical Cycle." East Kazakhstan Region is already carrying out large-scale projects in these areas aimed at boosting the region's investment appeal, improving residents' quality of life and creating new opportunities for its further development, the website infohub.kz reports.

The East Kazakhstan regional administration notes that the head of state devoted particular attention to the transport and logistics sector, stressing its strategic importance for the national economy. The president pointed to the need to speed up the construction and modernization of roads, rail and aviation infrastructure, and the development of logistics routes.

This area is especially important for East Kazakhstan. On the president's direct instructions, the region is completing the construction of airports in Zaisan and Katon-Karagai. The new air hubs are intended to improve transport access to remote areas, make travel easier for residents and tourists, and give an additional boost to entrepreneurship and the tourism industry. In the longer term, they will become an important part of the region's and the country's transport infrastructure.

Another key priority of the address is energy security. Qasym-Jomart Toqaev called the current period "the era of electricity," emphasizing that reliable power supply is becoming one of the main conditions for economic growth and the development of modern technology. East Kazakhstan Region is paying special attention to this area. The region is implementing heat and hydropower projects, including the construction of a thermal power plant and the expansion of hydropower capacity. Work continues on the construction of Turgusun HPP-2 and the modernization of existing energy facilities. These measures are aimed at improving the reliability of power supply, renewing infrastructure and creating conditions for the further development of industry and the regional economy.

Modernizing healthcare and improving access to specialized medical care is an important part of the regional agenda. A hematology center is being prepared to open in the region, which will expand the capacity to provide high-tech care to patients with blood and cardiovascular diseases. In addition, a 300-bed multidisciplinary hospital is under construction. The new medical facility will strengthen the region's treatment base and improve conditions for providing medical care to residents of East Kazakhstan.

These projects reflect the overall approach outlined by the head of state: the country's development must rest on modern infrastructure, reliable energy and accessible, high-quality social services. What matters is not only the construction of new facilities itself, but also the concrete results they will bring to people and the economy.

Following a meeting, East Kazakhstan Region akim Nurymbet Saktaganov instructed the relevant departments to study the provisions of the address carefully and prepare a comprehensive regional action plan. The document must set out specific tasks, responsible officials, deadlines and expected results for each area.

Consistent implementation of the priorities outlined by the president will link current regional projects with national objectives. For East Kazakhstan, this is an opportunity to strengthen transport connectivity, boost energy capacity, develop tourism areas and improve social infrastructure. The main goal is for large-scale projects to deliver long-term effects and help improve the quality of life for residents of the region.
