Volkswagen has unveiled the electric ID.3 GTI hot hatch, the most powerful production car in the 50-year history of the GTI line, according to infohub.kz.
The new model is powered by a rear electric motor producing 240 kW (326 hp) and 545 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 200 km/h.
The EV's range reaches 601 km, courtesy of a 79 kWh battery. DC fast charging at up to 183 kW allows the battery to go from 10 to 80% in about 29 minutes.
The ID.3 GTI comes with DCC adaptive sport suspension, progressive steering and a Launch Control system. A dedicated GTI mode activates the sportiest settings for the powertrain, steering and suspension.
Visually, the Volkswagen ID.3 GTI features traditional family cues: a red stripe between the headlights, 20-inch Wörthersee wheels, black decorative elements and the signature honeycomb grille. Matrix IQ.LIGHT LED headlights are also standard.
Inside, there are sport seats with a pattern inspired by the checked upholstery of the original Golf GTI, red stitching and a sport steering wheel with a red 12 o'clock marker. In GTI mode, the digital instruments get a special design, while artificial engine sound sets the mood.
Pre-sales of the Volkswagen ID.3 GTI will begin in early 2027.
