A warehouse fire broke out in the Zhetysu district of Almaty, which was fought at an elevated alert level. Firefighters managed to contain the blaze and prevent its spread, reports infohub.kz.
The incident occurred on Tobayakov Street. According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, an operational headquarters was established at the scene. Several firefighting sectors were organized to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading.
Footage of the fire was published by the Telegram channel Qumash. Later, the ministry clarified that upon arrival of the first fire crews, open flame burning was observed.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that three firefighting sectors were established. In addition to the emergency services, the following were involved: 63 personnel and 16 units of equipment from the Department of Emergency Situations, as well as Almaty CHP (1 unit, 3 people), Vodokanal, Almaty Tazalyk, a fire train from KTZ, and a fire convoy.
No injuries were reported to the 112 hotline. The fire was contained at 10:45 and fully extinguished at 11:10.
