A resident of Astana has reported harassment and unlawful actions by an unknown man in an elevator on social media. The incident has reached the court, reports infohub.kz.

On the Threads social network, the woman shared a story that happened to her on her way home from a store. She first noticed a suspicious car that she thought was following her. Later, as CCTV footage showed, the young man in the car deliberately ran after her to the elevator.

"When I got to the elevator, I didn't even recognize him. I stood calmly and held the elevator for him to get in. He was aggressively pressing the buttons, and his hand touched me. After that, he started touching me. He touched me twice, and I told him, 'Please don't touch me.' Then he deliberately stood behind me and waited for the moment when I would get out, and then he kicked me," the Kazakh woman described the situation.

The incident was responded to by officers of the District Police Department of the Nura district of Astana. "Police officers conducted an investigation, during which the identity of the offender was established. An administrative protocol was drawn up against him for petty hooliganism, and the case materials were sent to court for consideration on the merits," the police said in comments under the post.
