In the village of Koksay in the Karasai district of the Almaty region, a Mercedes-Benz crashed through the gate of a private house where six people, including a child, were in the yard. Two women were injured, reports the website infohub.kz.
Doctors were forced to amputate the leg of a 40-year-old woman who was celebrating her birthday. The second victim, a 30-year-old woman, was hospitalized with fractured ribs.
The police department of the Almaty region reported that a criminal case has been opened regarding the accident. "According to preliminary data, a 24-year-old woman driving a Mercedes-Benz on Nauryzbai Batyr Street lost control and struck two pedestrians. As a result of the accident, both victims were taken to a medical facility," the department said.
The suspect has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. Necessary investigative actions are currently underway.
