Yury Dud, a prominent journalist previously designated a foreign agent in Russia, has been added to the list of individuals involved in terrorist and extremist activities. The entry was made by the Federal Service for Financial Monitoring (Rosfinmonitoring) and published under number 7039, according to infohub.kz.
The registry lists the journalist's personal details: "Dud Yury Alexandrovich, born October 11, 1986, city of Potsdam, GDR."
As the publication explains, inclusion on such a list entails the blocking of bank accounts. The individual is allowed to withdraw and spend only limited amounts — solely to "ensure their own livelihood, as well as that of family members living with them who have no independent sources of income."
Yury Dud is a journalist and blogger whose YouTube channel has more than 10 million subscribers. In April 2022, Russia's Ministry of Justice declared him a foreign agent. The journalist tried to challenge the decision, demanding that the ministry's "inaction in failing to send him notification of his inclusion in the register of foreign media outlets performing the functions of a foreign agent" be recognized as unlawful. However, the Supreme Court rejected his claim.
