A local resident in the Zhambyl Region fully repaid an alimony debt of 1.7 million tenge only after a pre-trial investigation was launched against him, the website infohub.kz reports.

According to NUR.KZ, citing the regional prosecutor's office, the prolonged evasion of child support obligations was uncovered by the Shu District prosecutor's office during supervisory activities.

It was established that the man had accumulated an alimony debt of 1.7 million tenge since 2024. The debtor was able to meet his obligations but took no steps to pay off the arrears.

At the district prosecutor's office's initiative, a pre-trial investigation into the failure to pay alimony was launched against the debtor in August 2026.

During the investigation, the man admitted his guilt, repented and fully repaid the debt, also undertaking to pay alimony on time in the future.

Given the full repayment of the debt, the reconciliation of the parties and the absence of claims from the victim, the pre-trial investigation was terminated in accordance with the procedure established by law.
