Law enforcement officials in the Akmola region have uncovered a clandestine cannabis cultivation operation, leading to the seizure of numerous plants from a local resident's home.

Discovery During Operation

The discovery was made as part of the 'Karapora-2026' (Cannabis-2026) special operation, aimed at combating drug-related offenses. Authorities were alerted to suspicious activity at a property in the Zharkain district.

Local Resident Involved

During the operation, police identified a 39-year-old resident of Belagash village who had allegedly cultivated the illicit plants on his property. Instead of typical garden crops, the individual had reportedly established an illegal plantation of drug-producing plants.

Seizure and Investigation

A search of the premises resulted in the confiscation of 79 cannabis plants. These plants have been sent for forensic analysis to confirm their nature and potency. A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the matter, with authorities working to determine the full circumstances and motives behind the cultivation.
