Renowned Soviet Actress Lyudmila Chursina Dies at 84
Lyudmila Chursina, a beloved People's Artist of the Soviet Union and a prominent film actress, has died at the age of 84. Her passing is attributed to a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Chursina was widely recognized for her memorable roles in classic Soviet films such as "Ugryum-reka" (The Unruly River), "Shchit i mech" (The Shield and the Sword), and "Adyutant yego prevoskhoditelstva" (His Excellency's Adjutant).
Many viewers also remember her portrayal of the mother of the chief doctor, Anastasia Kise-Gach, in the popular series "Interny" (Interns).
Reports indicate that the actress had faced significant health challenges in the past. Last autumn, she spent a week in intensive care, where she was diagnosed with hypertension, angina, and atherosclerosis.
