Man Details Brutal Murders of Brother-in-Law and Mother-in-Law in Court
A shocking court case in Atyrau has unveiled the gruesome details of a double homicide, with the accused, Sultan Sarsemaliev, providing a chilling account of how he killed his 32-year-old brother-in-law, Nauryz Mukangaliyev, and his 35-year-old mother-in-law, Meirimgul.
The Death of Nauryz: A Brother-in-Law's Account
Sarsemaliev confessed that Nauryz Mukangaliyev did not die instantly during the attack. "This was the first time in my life something like this happened. I had never even slaughtered an animal before," the accused admitted.
Approximately 15 minutes after the initial incident, Sarsemaliev returned to the house and found Nauryz lying on the floor. "I thought he might still be alive. I was afraid that if he survived, he would tell my entire family that their son-in-law had tried to kill him," he stated.
The Fate of Five Children
The accused revealed that after the incident, he considered calling the police but was paralyzed by the thought of his five children's future. "Honestly, I wanted to call the police. But I had five children. The youngest was only four months old at the time. My wife couldn't look after them alone. That's why I thought for a long time about what to do," Sarsemaliev confessed.
Meirimgul's Death: Insults and Rage
In court, the accused also detailed the events leading to Meirimgul's death. According to him, children and his wife, Akbayan, were present in the house at the time of the crime. After the parents of his daughter's mother were killed, Meirimgul was brought from Zhangeldin village to stay with Akbayan and help her.
However, a conflict later arose between them. "She said words that insulted my honor. She repeated her mother's words. Due to her psychological state, she had absorbed what her mother had said," he explained.
Sarsemaliev claims he lost control after this argument. "First, I hit her in the armpit, then I hit her in the face. I wanted to cover her mouth, so I kept hitting her face with a knife. She didn't even scream. There was no remorse at that time. After killing three people, you become indifferent," the accused chillingly admitted.
According to case materials, Meirimgul was killed with the same knife used to murder Mairamgül Maqsut Qarabalın and Näsi̇p Mukangaliyeva.
Attempt to Conceal the Bodies
Sarsemaliev stated that after the crime, he took Meirimgul's body to the same location where Nauryz Mukangaliyev's body was hidden and buried her face down in the same pit.
Previously, a video recording of the accused's wife, Akbayan Mukangaliyeva's, initial testimony was shown in court, where she stated she did not understand what had happened.
