14-Year-Old Rescued After Falling Into 12-Meter Well in Shymkent

A frightening incident occurred in Shymkent when a 14-year-old boy fell into a 12-meter-deep well located in the yard of a private residence. Fortunately, rescue teams were able to safely extract the teenager.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the well was dry, which likely prevented more severe injuries. Emergency responders arrived promptly at the scene and utilized specialized equipment to bring the boy out of the well unharmed.

Following the rescue, the teenager was handed over to a waiting ambulance crew for a medical evaluation.

Safety Warnings Issued

The incident has prompted a strong reminder from rescue services about the importance of child supervision. Authorities are urging citizens to ensure children are not left unattended and that their safety is constantly monitored, especially in areas with potential hazards like open wells.

This event echoes a similar incident in Aktobe, where a 7-year-old child fell into an uncovered well near their home but was saved thanks to the quick actions of a passing student.
