Aibek Dadebay Elected Head of New 'Adilet' Political Party in Kazakhstan

A new political force, the 'Adilet' party, has emerged on Kazakhstan's political landscape. At its founding congress held on May 7th, Aibek Dadebay, formerly the Head of the Presidential Administration, was elected as the party's chairman.

Championing Justice and Reform

The 'Adilet' party positions itself as a proponent of the ongoing presidential reforms, with justice as its core ideology. Dadebay emphasized the party's goal to make justice an integral part of Kazakh citizens' political culture and daily lives, aligning with the nation's unique mentality and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's consistent focus on the matter.

Origins and Membership Drive

The initiative to form 'Adilet' was publicly announced in mid-April by a group of politicians, journalists, and public figures. They declared their support for progressive reforms, the creation of a just Kazakhstan, strengthening the rule of law, and expanding citizen participation in decision-making processes. The party's fundamental aim is to protect citizens' rights and freedoms based on a new constitution and national values.

On April 16th, the party's organizing committee officially submitted its intent to form 'Adilet' to the Ministry of Justice. The party announced it had met legal requirements by gathering 9,312 members, exceeding the minimum threshold of 5,000. They also fulfilled the condition of recruiting at least 200 members from each region and city of republican significance.

Official data indicates that over 1,000 delegates from all regions of Kazakhstan participated in the founding congress.
