Atyrau Trial for Four Deaths Adjourned, Awaiting Video Evidence
A court hearing in Atyrau concerning the deaths of four individuals has been postponed, drawing significant attention due to the grave nature of the accusations.
The trial involves Sultan Sarsamaliev, who faces multiple charges related to the killings. The proceedings were initially scheduled to review video evidence and hear testimony on June 9th, as announced by presiding judge Zarema Khamidullina. However, court reporters observed that the session has been rescheduled to June 11th.
Charges and Allegations
Sarsamaliev is accused of 13 offenses under various articles of the Criminal Code. He has pleaded not guilty to the intentional murder of Nauryz Mukhangaliyev, asserting his actions were in self-defense and the incident was accidental.
However, Sarsamaliev has admitted to the intentional killings of his father-in-law, Maksot Karabalin, and Nasip Uteshkalieva. Court documents reveal he confessed to stabbing his father-in-law nine times and Uteshkalieva eight times. The materials also indicate that Meyramgul Karabalin, his mother-in-law, was stabbed 32 times.
The next court session is expected to focus on the examination of video evidence and further questioning of the defendant.
