New photographs of Assel Isabayeva, a figure previously referred to by former Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev as his "second family," have recently appeared online, capturing widespread attention.

The striking new photoshoot was shared by renowned photographer Miras Bayanov on his Instagram page. Bayanov expressed his admiration for Isabayeva, noting her connection to the arts.

"It's always important for me to be close to art, especially to be with people who have become a part of it," Bayanov wrote on his social media. "The wonderful Assel Isabayeva – in my view."

Who is Assel Isabayeva?

Assel Isabayeva is a former beauty queen, having won the title of "Miss Kazakhstan" in 1999. Currently 46 years old, she holds the position of art manager at the "Astana Ballet" theater.

Her name has previously surfaced in international investigations, with reports suggesting she received $30 million through offshore companies.

Nazarbayev's "Second Family"

Nursultan Nazarbayev officially acknowledged having a second family in 2023. In his memoirs, he detailed meeting Assel Isabayeva after a beauty pageant and the subsequent development of their close relationship.

According to the former president, they entered into a marriage according to Muslim traditions, and the union resulted in the birth of two sons, Tauman and Baiken.
