A traffic incident in Astana has resulted in a "Gazelle" van overturning in the middle of an intersection, with authorities investigating the circumstances. While the vehicle ended up on its side, initial reports indicate no one was harmed.

Intersection Collision Leads to Overturn

The accident occurred at the busy intersection of Abay and Beibitshilik streets. Images and videos from the scene clearly show the "Gazelle" van lying overturned. Eyewitnesses reported that the driver was inside the vehicle at the time of the incident.

Police Provide Official Account

The Astana Department of Police confirmed that three vehicles were damaged as a result of the collision. According to preliminary findings, the driver of a Chevrolet vehicle, while passing through a traffic light, collided with the "Gazelle" van. The impact caused the "Gazelle" to then hit a Hyundai vehicle that was waiting at the intersection, leading to the overturn.

Police also clarified that a patrol car visible in some footage was not involved in the accident itself but arrived at the scene to manage the situation. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.

This incident follows a similar event in Almaty in March, where a vehicle also overturned following a traffic accident near a mosque on Dulati Street.
