Kazakh Boxer Corrects Opponent's Nationality After Win

In a moment that highlighted national pride, Kazakhstani boxer Yevgeniy Pavlov took to social media to correct his American opponent, Antonio Denton El-Jr., after the latter mistakenly referred to him as Russian.

A Matter of Identity After the Bell

The exchange occurred following a boxing match held in Baltimore, USA. Pavlov, representing Kazakhstan, secured a victory over El-Jr. after six rounds, winning by points. However, the post-match interaction took an unexpected turn when the defeated American posted a lighthearted, yet inaccurate, comment on social media.

Correcting the Record

Antonio El-Jr. initially posted on his Instagram page, humorously stating, "I really fought a Russian, but I didn't die." Yevgeniy Pavlov swiftly responded, correcting the misconception with a clear and proud declaration: "I am not Russian. I am Kazakh, my brother." The American boxer quickly acknowledged his error, replying, "Oh, sorry, my friend."

Pavlov's Impressive Record

This victory marks another milestone for the 26-year-old Kazakhstani boxer. Yevgeniy Pavlov began his professional boxing career in 2020 and has since achieved an undefeated record of 11 wins, with eight of those victories ending in knockouts. Notably, his fight against El-Jr. was his first professional bout in over three years.
