Kazakh Tenge Strengthens as Dollar Rate Declines in Latest Trading

The Kazakh tenge has gained ground, leading to a decrease in the US dollar's exchange rate following the most recent trading session on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE). This development is significant for those closely monitoring the nation's economic indicators.

Exchange Rate Movements on KASE

Trading in foreign currencies on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange concluded with the US dollar's average weighted rate falling by 1.49 tenge to 463.41 tenge. This is a notable shift from the National Bank's official rate set for May 6th, which stood at 465.01 tenge. The previous day, May 5th, the dollar's average weighted rate was recorded at 465.01 tenge, marking a slight increase of 0.41 tenge.

Current Exchange Rates at Exchange Offices

In Astana, exchange offices are buying US dollars at approximately 460.00 tenge and selling them for 467.00 tenge. The Euro is available for purchase at 538.00 tenge and selling at 547.97 tenge. Russian rubles are being bought at 5.94 tenge and sold at 6.25 tenge.

Moving to Almaty, the US dollar is being exchanged at an average rate of 463.38 tenge for buying and 465.53 tenge for selling. The Euro is trading within the range of 542.14 to 547.26 tenge, while Russian rubles are fluctuating between 5.98 and 6.10 tenge.

In Shymkent, exchange points are offering to buy US dollars at an average of 464.04 tenge and sell them at 466.07 tenge. The Euro can be purchased and sold between 542.45 and 546.80 tenge, with the Russian ruble trading around 6.01 to 6.08 tenge.
