Kazakhstan Defense Minister Comments on Crashed Su-30SM Fighter Jet
A Su-30SM fighter jet crashed in the Karaganda region, prompting a statement from Kazakhstan's Defense Minister, Dauren Kosanov. The incident occurred during a planned training flight on February 25th.
New Aircraft Involved
Minister Kosanov addressed the situation, stating that the aircraft was a new model, a Su-30SM manufactured in Russia and delivered in 2022. He noted that the jet had accumulated approximately 230 flight hours before the incident.
Investigation Underway
A special commission has been established to investigate the cause of the crash. The minister assured that all findings will be made public once the investigation concludes. He emphasized that the primary concern was the safety of the pilots, who successfully ejected from the aircraft in time.
