Kazakhstan's Interior Ministry, in collaboration with international law enforcement agencies, has successfully dismantled a significant transnational drug trafficking scheme. The operation targeted a network that lured citizens into drug-related criminal activities through deceptive online job postings.

International Network Exposed

The criminal network, orchestrated from outside Kazakhstan, used various online platforms, including messengers and social media, to advertise high-paying jobs. Unsuspecting individuals were recruited under false pretenses, only to be drawn into the illegal drug trade.

Call Centers Facilitated Operations

Specially established call centers played a crucial role in managing the illicit operations. Employees within these centers were responsible for vetting potential recruits, providing instructions, and coordinating the activities of individuals acting as drug couriers.

Nationwide Arrests Made

The coordinated operation spanned across 11 regions of Kazakhstan, resulting in the apprehension of 40 suspects. Of those arrested, 11 individuals are directly implicated in drug distribution. An additional 9 people were detained for drug use and sentenced to 10 days of administrative arrest.

Evidence Seized

During the operation, law enforcement officials seized a substantial amount of evidence, including synthetic drugs, computer equipment, smartphones, bank cards, and electronic data storage devices. These items are considered vital for the ongoing investigation.

Investigation Continues

The successful special operation has identified key organizers and active participants of the criminal scheme. Efforts are currently underway to apprehend them and bring them to justice.
