Kyzylorda Drivers Face Long Queues as Technical Inspection Centers Shut Down
Drivers in Kyzylorda are facing significant challenges and lengthy queues to get their vehicles technically inspected. The situation has escalated as a number of inspection centers in the city have ceased operations, causing widespread dissatisfaction among vehicle owners.
Limited Inspection Options Spark Frustration
According to residents, only two technical inspection points are currently operational in Kyzylorda. One is located at the Public Service Center (ЦОН), and the other is on Zheltoqsan Street. The demand is so high that queues begin as early as 5 AM, with a maximum of 40 to 50 vehicles being processed daily. This includes owners of both light and heavy vehicles, all vying for a spot.
Fear of Fines Adds to the Pressure
The urgency to pass technical inspection has intensified with the recent activation of cameras designed to detect vehicles without valid inspection certificates. This development raises concerns among drivers about potential fines for those who cannot complete the inspection process in time.
Official Explanation for Center Closures
Representatives from the Kyzylorda Regional Transport Inspectorate have stated that there is no shortage of technical inspection points. They confirmed that 9 operators have been licensed in the region, with 8 currently active: 7 stationary and 1 mobile center in Kyzylorda, plus another mobile unit serving the Kazaly district.
Stricter Regulations Lead to Operational Halts
The inspectorate explained that while centers are meant to operate without days off and around the clock, recent changes in regulations have impacted operations. Since last year, the requirements for technical inspection operators have been tightened. Previously, a simple notification was sufficient, but now operators must obtain a license and prove compliance with new standards. Stations that failed to complete this process by March 1st were disconnected from the unified information system, rendering them unable to conduct inspections. This regulatory shift is cited as the reason for the simultaneous shutdown of several inspection points.
