New Bridge and Road Project in Uralsk Awarded to BI Group Subsidiary
A substantial infrastructure project is set to transform Uralsk, Kazakhstan, with the construction of a new bridge and a modern highway over the Shagan River. The lucrative 35.8 billion tenge contract has been awarded to 'Qazaqdorstroy' LLP, a subsidiary of the prominent 'BI Group' holding company.
Key Project Details
The ambitious project involves the creation of a four-lane highway stretching approximately 3.96 kilometers. Designed for efficient traffic flow, the road will allow speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour. Each lane will be 3.5 meters wide, with the overall right-of-way spanning 60 meters. The development also includes provisions for pedestrian walkways, safety lanes, street lighting, video surveillance, communication networks, and storm drainage systems.
Bridge Construction Specifications
The new bridge, estimated to be around 220 meters in length, will feature a robust design utilizing monolithic supports and pile foundations. The carriageway will be 7 meters wide, accommodating two lanes of traffic. A clearance of nearly 7 meters is planned beneath the bridge to ensure navigability for vessels. The structure will be equipped with waterproofing, a double-layer asphalt-concrete surface at least 70 mm thick, a drainage system, stairs, railings, and lighting.
