Nurlan Saburov's China Tour Hits Snag: Shanghai Show Canceled
A highly anticipated performance by popular Russian stand-up comedian Nurlan Saburov in Shanghai has been abruptly canceled, raising concerns about his other scheduled shows in China.
Shanghai Show Canceled
Saburov's concert, originally slated for April 4th in Shanghai, was called off due to "reasons beyond the organizers' control," according to Russian media reports. This sudden cancellation has cast a shadow over his upcoming performances in Guangzhou on April 2nd and Beijing on April 3rd.
Beijing Concert Uncertain
Adding to the uncertainty, ticket sales for the Beijing show, scheduled to take place just two days after the Shanghai cancellation, have not yet commenced. This delay further fuels speculation about the fate of his entire China tour.
High Ticket Prices
Reports from the Shot channel indicate that tickets for Saburov's stand-up shows were priced between 30,000 and 120,000 tenge, reflecting significant demand for his performances.
This incident follows previous scrutiny of Saburov, including a 50-year entry ban into Russia imposed on January 30th. In mid-February, it was reported that Kazakhstan's National Security Committee had initiated an investigation concerning the comedian.
