Olympic Champion Fulfills Promise to Young Kazakhstani Figure Skaters

Olympic champion Mikhail Shaidorov has kept a promise made to young figure skaters in Almaty, visiting them on International Children's Day to present certificates for sports equipment.

Shaidorov visited the figure skating students at Almaty's Children and Youth Sports School No. 3, presenting them with the much-needed certificates for sports gear.

Supporting Young Athletes

The champion shared his joy on social media, stating, "Today I met with the children involved in figure skating at the Children and Youth Sports School No. 3 in Almaty. On the occasion of International Children's Day, I presented them with a small gift – certificates for sports equipment. Thank you for your support! I am very happy to have been able to give the children positive emotions and confidence in their own strength. I always strive to support more children in our wonderful sport."

This gesture comes after a period where Shaidorov himself faced issues with delayed salary payments, which had been highlighted by members of the Parliament. In May, KazTAG reported on Shaidorov's comments regarding the delayed payments from the Ministry of Sports and Tourism. Following his public statements, figure skater Melyk Aladabergenova also spoke out about salary delays. By June 1, the Ministry of Sports announced that Shaidorov's situation had been resolved.
