Russia launched a significant overnight assault on Ukraine, employing a multi-pronged strategy that included waves of drones followed by hypersonic and ballistic missiles. The capital city of Kyiv and its surrounding areas were primary targets in the coordinated attack.

Attack Strategy Unveiled

According to Ukraine's Air Force Command, the offensive began with the deployment of hundreds of attack drones. Approximately three hours later, Russia escalated the assault by launching hypersonic "Zircon" missiles from the sea and ballistic missiles from the north. The attack continued with "Kalibr" cruise missiles fired from bomber aircraft.

Key Targets Identified

Vitali Klitschko, the Mayor of Kyiv, confirmed explosions in the capital and reported on the active engagement of air defense systems. Monitoring channels indicated that the Trypillia Thermal Power Plant was among the facilities targeted. Additionally, cities in the vicinity of Kyiv, including Vasylkiv, Obukhiv, Trypillia, and Ukrainka, were also subjected to the strikes.
