A pre-trial hearing has commenced in Atyrau, focusing on the tragic deaths of the Karabalina family. The investigation has identified Sultan Sarsemaliyev as the main suspect in the case.

According to investigative findings, Sarsemaliyev has reportedly confessed to his involvement in the demise of his in-laws.

Unraveling the Disappearance

Temirkhan Kazhymuratov, a senior investigator with the Atyrau Oblast Police Department's Investigation Directorate, detailed the process of tracking down the suspect. The investigation involved interviewing over 40 individuals, including relatives of the deceased, neighbors, and others potentially connected to the incident.

Initially, the couple was registered as missing persons. However, subsequent checks of their bank accounts revealed financial transactions and the destinations of their funds, which became crucial in the investigation.

Financial Trail Leads to Suspect

Investigators examined the couple's bank accounts, scrutinizing deposits and expenditures. It was during this phase that evidence emerged of money being transferred to Sarsemaliyev's account.

“First, we looked at their accounts. We checked if money was deposited and where it was spent. At this point, it became known that money was being deposited into the suspect Sarsemaliyev's account. Later, we found a taxi driver who had transported the couple and their child to the village in November. On the way back, Meiramgul Mukangaliyeva was also with him,” stated investigator Temirkhan Kazhymuratov.

The court is currently reviewing the details of the criminal case. The prosecution alleges that the suspect's actions constitute a grave crime, and the final verdict rests with the court.
