Trump Hints at Halting US Military Operations Against Iran
U.S. President Donald Trump has indicated that American forces are nearing their objectives in the Middle East and suggested a potential halt to military operations against Iran.
Trump shared his perspective on his Truth Social media platform, outlining key strategic aims and the possibility of de-escalation.
Striking Iran's Military Capabilities
According to the President, the United States is on the verge of dismantling Iran's missile capabilities, including its launch sites. The strategy also involves targeting Iran's defense industry, as well as its naval, air, and anti-aircraft forces.
Preventing Nuclear Proliferation
A primary objective emphasized by Trump is to permanently prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. He stated the U.S. must maintain a position that allows for swift and decisive action should such a scenario arise.
The President also underscored the importance of protecting regional allies, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
Control of the Strait of Hormuz
Trump suggested that other nations utilizing the Strait of Hormuz should take responsibility for its security and control if necessary, implying the U.S. would not continue to bear this burden alone.
"If they ask us, we will help these countries protect the Strait of Hormuz, but after the threat from Iran is eliminated, there will be no need for this. It will be an easy military operation for them," Trump believes.
