A New Beginning After Loss

Shen Hailin's life took a tragic turn in 2009 when she lost her only daughter and son-in-law to carbon monoxide poisoning. This profound loss plunged her into deep grief. However, Shen refused to be defeated. Seeking a way to overcome her sorrow, she underwent In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and, at 60 years old, welcomed twin daughters, Zhizhi and Huihui, into her life. This extraordinary event made her known as the oldest mother of twins in China.

Navigating Challenges

The journey through pregnancy was fraught with difficulties for Shen Hailin, including swelling and bleeding. Despite these complications, her twins were born safely in 2010. Following their birth, the family faced financial hardships. To support her daughters' education and upbringing, Shen began traveling the country, giving lectures on health and nutrition to earn an income.

A Renewed Purpose

Further challenges arose when her husband suffered a stroke in 2016 and passed away in 2022. Later, Shen experienced a significant financial loss due to an investment scam. Yet, even after enduring such severe trials, Shen Hailin has not lost her zest for life. At 73, she launched live streams on social media platforms. Through these broadcasts, she shares advice on parenting, cooking, and healthy living, while also selling home goods. Currently, she boasts nearly one million followers. Her journey has become a symbol of resilience, inspiring many parents facing their own life challenges.
