Five minor children have been left without care after their father، Sultan Sarsemaliyev، was sentenced to life in prison for murdering an entire family. The court issued a separate ruling on the children’s fate، reports infohub.kz.
Judge Zarema Khamidullina، who presided over the case، announced that a special ruling had been issued regarding the fate of the convicted man’s five minor children. According to the court’s decision، the responsibility for protecting the children’s rights and arranging their placement has been assigned to the relevant authorities.
“The court has entrusted the future care and placement of the children to the Education Department of Atyrau Region. Additionally، the akimat of Kyzylkoga District has been instructed to formalize inheritance rights to the house left by the deceased in the village of Zhangeldin، in order to protect the children’s property interests،” said Judge Zarema Khamidullina.
Sultan Sarsemaliyev’s youngest child was born in 2025. On February 3 of this year، the district commission on minors’ affairs and protection of their rights decided to place the children under state care. Previously، they had been looked after by the convict’s mother. Initially، the three oldest children were sent to a juvenile adjustment center، while the two youngest were placed in an orphanage. It later emerged that four children aged 3 to 9 are being raised at the adjustment center in Atyrau، while the youngest is in a specialized institution.
