I. Cambridge and its environment
Cambridge is in the east of England. It is a small city. The population is about a hundred thousand. Cambridge is an ancient city. It is famous because it has a very good university. The main industries in Cambridge are tourism and agriculture. There are also a lot of English language schools. The land near Cambridge is flat. There are no hills or mountains. The climate is warm in summer and cold in winter. There is usually some air pollution, especially in the centre of the city.

II. Litter is a problem.
Litter is food, paper and cans on the ground. People don’t always put their litter in the litter bin. Litter makes the place look dirty and spoils the view of the city.
Litter is a health problem. It brings illness. Some people want to control litter. They never throw litter themselves. In most cities the law punish people who throw litter on the streets. They usually pay a fine. Don't be a litterbug.

Tuesday 14th.
I feel better today. Yesterday was terrible. I felt fine all morning, but in the afternoon I began to feel really ill. I was hot, then cold. I had a headache. I felt tired and I felt sick. I finally decided to go home. I arrived home at two o’clock and went straight to bed. I took 2 aspirins and had a hot drink. I slept until this morning – 18 hours in all. May be it was flu. Today I fell better, but I’m staying in bed. I’m enjoying the rest and this book’s very good.
