Police in Almaty have detained a man and a woman after discovering a powder with a beige substance in their car, reports infohub.kz.
According to the press service of the Almaty Police Department, another attempt at illegal drug trafficking was thwarted in the city. Officers from the drug control unit stopped a Hyundai Accent on Raiymbek Avenue. Inside were a man and a woman. During the search, a package with a beige substance was found on the female passenger, weighing about 700 grams.
During the vehicle inspection, police found a woman's handbag containing three zip-lock bags with a white substance, a large number of empty bags, and electronic scales. All items were seized and sent for analysis.
It is noted that all suspects have been taken to the police station for necessary procedural actions. A criminal case has been initiated. The investigation is currently determining the origin of the seized substances and the distribution channel in the metropolis.
