In Almaty, a driver who was driving around the city with an object resembling a pistol drew police attention and was detained. The inspection showed that the pistol turned out to be a toy, reports the website infohub.kz.
As reported by the press service of the Almaty Police Department, during monitoring of social networks, a video was identified in which the driver demonstrates an object outwardly similar to a firearm.
"Officers of the Medeu District Police Department identified the individual, detained him, and brought him to the police. It was established that the demonstrated object is a toy pistol and does not relate to firearms. An administrative case was opened against the offender for petty hooliganism. The materials have been sent to court," the DP reported.
It is noted that an administrative case was also opened against the offender for violating traffic rules.
"Demonstrating objects outwardly similar to weapons in public places, even if they are toys, is unacceptable. Such actions can provoke panic among citizens and require an immediate police response," the DP noted.
