The Almaty police have reminded Kazakh citizens of the legal requirements regarding appearance in public places and explained in which cases one may cover one's face, reports the website infohub.kz.

In Almaty, law enforcement officers are conducting explanatory work on compliance with legislation on wearing clothing that hinders face recognition. Administrative liability is provided for such a violation. This refers to Article 434-3 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"It is important to understand that this is not about a person's appearance, but solely about public safety requirements. The law provides for specific cases when the face may be covered," noted Zhandos Kavliev.

According to him, such exceptions include medical indications, certain weather conditions, performance of official and work duties, as well as participation in sports and cultural mass events.

"In all other cases, citizens need to take into account the requirements of the law. Our task is primarily to explain these norms and prevent possible violations," emphasized Zhandos Kavliev.

The police stressed that the restrictions apply specifically to the ability to recognize a face, not to a person's appearance.
