According to Aibol Rakhymbaev, head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Industrial-Innovative Development of the Almaty region, the region is gradually becoming one of the country’s largest export and logistics hubs. “This was driven by the expansion of production capacities in the food industry, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural processing. The development of the region’s transport and logistics infrastructure — the China-Europe international transport corridor, BAKAD, modern logistics hubs, and warehouse complexes — also plays a key role,” Rakhymbaev said.
