Passengers in Almaty have complained about unsanitary conditions at the Sayran bus station. A video with criticism was posted by Threads user Rasul Tokpanov, reports infohub.kz.
The footage shows the station building is dirty, with litter and cigarette butts everywhere. The author compared the situation to a 'portal to hell from the 90s' and noted that the smell of cheap food mixes with exhaust fumes. The city's transport department responded to the complaint. They said that information about the inadequate sanitary condition of the bus station has been sent to the owner, Uni Route Station LLP, for appropriate action. The department noted that the owner has been asked to conduct a comprehensive cleanup of the territory, eliminate identified sanitary violations, and strengthen control over the maintenance of the building and adjacent area. The owner must provide a report on the measures taken.
