The Astana court has issued an official statement in response to statements made by Aliya Aitbayeva in the media and social networks. The press service said her claims that the criminal case against her sister Asemgul Aitbayeva and brother-in-law Maxim Rassokhin was fabricated, and that they were illegally deprived of an apartment, contradict final court rulings, reports the website infohub.kz.
According to the court, Asemgul Aitbayeva and Maxim Rassokhin organized a fraudulent scheme in which, under the pretext of helping to quickly obtain money, they persuaded citizens to take out loans in their own names. To implement the scheme, they placed advertisements, recruited intermediaries and bank employees. Victims were brought to Astana, where they were promised that the loans would be repaid by the organizers.
After receiving the loans, the funds and purchased goods were transferred to Aitbayeva and Rassokhin. To create an appearance of fulfilling obligations, small payments were made for some time, but then payments stopped. As a result, according to the courts, 127 people, including a significant number of pensioners, were left with credit obligations.
On December 22, 2021, Asemgul Aitbayeva was finally sentenced to four years and six months in prison, and Maxim Rassokhin to four years in prison. The Supreme Court upheld the verdict. The press service emphasized that final court rulings refute claims that the criminal case was fabricated.
In addition, the court commented on Aliya Aitbayeva's statements about the illegal seizure of the apartment. According to the press service, she filed a lawsuit challenging the real estate sale contract, but courts of three instances recognized the transaction as legal and dismissed her claims. Despite this, the court noted, Aliya Aitbayeva continues to spread information that contradicts the circumstances established by court decisions. The press service reminded that Kazakh law provides for liability for spreading deliberately false information.
