In Astana, a court sentenced a taxi passenger who harassed a female driver and refused to leave the car. The incident occurred after the man demanded a kiss and accompaniment to an entertainment venue, reports infohub.kz.
According to the victim, five drunk friends got into her taxi. One of them turned out to be her colleague working at "Premiere". When the ride ended, he refused to get out, demanding a kiss and continuation of the evening.
"I clearly said several times: 'No. Get out of the car, I need to work.' In response, there was profanity, pressure, and attempts to prevent me from leaving. When I finally returned him to his friends, he tried to grab my dashcam," the driver said.
The woman also stated that the man threatened to burn her and the car if she posted the video on social media. However, despite the threats, footage of the scandal appeared on Instagram.
The Astana police department reported that the man was held accountable for petty hooliganism. The case was reviewed by the Specialized Interdistrict Administrative Court of Astana. The man did not deny his guilt.
The court found him guilty under Part 1 of Article 434 of the Administrative Code (petty hooliganism). The sanction of the article provides for a fine of 20 MCI or administrative arrest from 5 to 10 days. By court order, citizen A. was sentenced to 10 days of administrative arrest, the court's press service reported.
