An Australian parliamentarian has found himself in the spotlight after journalists spotted him texting during official hearings. The MP has admitted his fault, reports infohub.kz.

The lawmaker faced a barrage of criticism over a curious yet telling incident that occurred during an official session. A media representative in the chamber accidentally captured the politician's phone screen, which clearly showed his personal messages. In one of them, the MP candidly told his correspondent that the proceedings were making him feel bored.

The footage quickly spread on social media, sparking heated discussion among constituents and colleagues. The public was less upset by the remark itself than by the official's blatant disregard for his duties during the discussion of important state matters.

The politician had to publicly address the situation and justify himself to journalists. He officially acknowledged sending the message, apologized for his carelessness, and stated that he fully understands his responsibility to the citizens of the country.
