BYD has unveiled the compact Yuan Up Feichi Edition 2027 electric crossover in China, known in some markets as the Atto 2. The model now offers a version with up to 501 km of range on the CLTC cycle, a redesigned interior, and keeps its starting price at 74,800 yuan — about 5 million tenge, according to infohub.kz.

The newcomer is of particular interest for Kazakhstan: the current BYD Yuan Up EV costs 10 million tenge here, while the hybrid Yuan Up DM-i is priced at 12.7 million.

The main change is a new 51.13 kWh battery. It delivers up to 501 km on the CLTC cycle, 100 km more than the previous version. Under the stricter WLTC cycle, the figure is around 370 km.

At the same time, all five trim levels of the updated Yuan Up get a single front electric motor producing 70 kW (94 hp) and 180 Nm. Previously, the model had a 130 kW option.

The 301 km and 401 km range versions remain. They use 32 kWh and 45.12 kWh batteries respectively. Fast charging takes the battery from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes.

Externally, the Yuan Up has barely changed, but new body colors and 17-inch aerodynamic wheels for the higher trims have been added.

The biggest changes are inside. The gear selector has moved to the steering column, freeing up space for a 50 W wireless phone charger with cooling. There is also an updated two-spoke steering wheel, ventilated and heated front seats, a panoramic roof, and an NFC key for smartphones.

The DiLink 100 infotainment system runs on a 12.8-inch rotating screen, and cargo space with the rear seats folded reaches 1,320 liters. The more expensive versions offer the DiPilot C suite with highway navigation and automated parking.

Recommended prices for the Yuan Up Feichi Edition 2027 in China (excluding the trade-in program): 301KM Leading — 74,800 yuan (5 million tenge); 401KM Leading — 81,800 yuan (5.4 million tenge); 401KM Vitality — 89,800 yuan (6 million tenge); 501KM Beyond — 94,800 yuan (6.3 million tenge); 501KM Excellence — 104,800 yuan (7 million tenge).
