Another attack on an oil tanker has occurred near the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) terminal in the Black Sea. The vessel targeted was a Greek-flagged ship, reports infohub.kz.
According to RIA Novosti, citing a translation of Bloomberg material, the incident happened the day before. Agency sources said the tanker was hit after completing unloading at the CPC terminal. The publication states: "A Greek-flagged oil tanker was attacked in the Black Sea. (...) It was struck after unloading at the CPC terminal."
Details of the attack have not been disclosed. The vessel's operator, Skiros, said no crew members were injured.
Recall that a previous attack on a tanker in the waters of the CPC marine terminal occurred on July 30. At that time, the consortium's press service called it "terrorist." The affected vessel was the Marshall Islands-flagged "Niffos Sifnos," which was loading oil at the single point mooring. The cargo shipper was Tengizchevroil LLP (Chevron, Kazakhstan).
Later, Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy announced temporary restrictions on CPC fuel intake and the rerouting of Kazakh oil via alternative routes.
Additionally, media reported that the US Vice President expressed dissatisfaction with attacks on tankers carrying Kazakh oil and addressed Vladimir Zelensky.
