Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary for President Donald Trump, has announced her resignation to spend more time with her family, according to infohub.kz.
In a post on social media platform X, Leavitt described her work at the White House over the past year and a half as "the honor and adventure of a lifetime." She expressed gratitude to President Trump for the opportunities she had, including working in the West Wing, spending hours in the Oval Office, traveling the world, and meeting with foreign leaders. "Most of all, I am grateful to the President for the extraordinary trust he placed in me to speak on his behalf from the White House podium," she wrote.
Leavitt emphasized that she was proud to have highlighted "many historic achievements of this administration," held liberal media accountable, and ensured that the American people heard the truth about President Trump's successes. She admitted that balancing motherhood with one of the most demanding jobs in the world was "the most rewarding and simultaneously the most challenging period" of her life. After the birth of her daughter, she felt she could not be the best mother to her two children while devoting all her time and energy to the role of press secretary. Therefore, she made the "bittersweet decision" to leave the White House and begin a new chapter.
President Trump asked Leavitt to continue serving as his senior adviser outside the White House, and she stated that she would always remain an active supporter of the MAGA movement and the Republican Party. She also warned of an "existential threat" from the "increasingly radical Democratic Party," which she said seeks to destroy everything great about America. "My fight enters a new phase, but it is far from over," she added.
Leavitt thanked the President, the First Lady, and the entire Trump family for their kindness and generosity, as well as all her colleagues at the White House for their teamwork. "It has been an honor to serve alongside so many remarkable and impressive people, and I look forward to supporting them over the next two and a half years," she wrote, expressing special gratitude to her husband and family for their sacrifices.
Donald Trump, in a post on Truth Social, commented on Leavitt's departure, calling her a "fantastic press secretary" and "one of the most trusted advisers." He said she would leave at the end of the month to spend more time with her children and family, and that he fully understands and respects her decision. Trump noted that Leavitt would become one of his top outside advisers and a powerful voice in the Republican Party, and thanked her for her phenomenal work, calling her one of the best press secretaries in White House history.
