In July, Kazakh banks earned 201 billion tenge, up 26% from June, when a record decline since the start of the year was recorded. These data are provided by the National Bank of Kazakhstan, reports infohub.kz.
July proved to be a relatively stable month for the country's banking sector. After profits fell to 159.9 billion tenge in June, they recovered to 201 billion tenge in July. However, compared to July 2025, bank profits decreased by 23%.
Net profit of banks by month was distributed as follows: January – 198.5 billion tenge; February – 190 billion tenge; March – 203.4 billion tenge; April – 203.6 billion tenge; May – 239.8 billion tenge; June – 159.9 billion tenge; July – 201 billion tenge. Thus, since the beginning of the year, banks have earned 1.39 trillion tenge in net profit.
Interest income of banks in July amounted to 906 billion tenge – 3% more than a month earlier. Non-interest income increased by 9% – to 11.4 trillion tenge. Income tax expenses amounted to 45.6 billion tenge, and without tax – 12 trillion tenge.
More detailed statistics on specific banks will be published by the National Bank at the end of August. Earlier it was reported that the profit of the country's largest bank, Halyk Bank, decreased in the first half of the year due to stricter lending requirements by the National Bank.
