The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan (SAMK) has issued a statement in response to the increasing cases of violence against women. The organization's representatives emphasized that such acts are unacceptable and strongly condemned, as reported by infohub.kz.
In its official Instagram account, SAMK noted that it is painful to hear about certain events occurring in Kazakh society. It is especially sad to see a woman suffering and being subjected to violence in her own family.
“A woman is the keeper of the family hearth. To some, she is a beloved daughter; to others, a dear mother; to others, a beloved wife. She seeks protection and warmth. Therefore, it is a man's duty to take care of her. Our noble Prophet Muhammad said: 'The best of you are those who are best to their families.' These words carry deep meaning. A man's strength is not in his fists. True strength lies in patience and in being a support for a loved one, not the cause of their tears,” the statement reads.
SAMK stressed that a hand raised in anger and harsh words can leave deep scars on a person's heart. “A family should be a place where a person feels safest. A woman should live in her own home, not in fear. Every father and mother, who lovingly raised their daughter and send her off to a new family with great hopes, wish only one thing: that she be happy there. Let us not betray that trust. Protecting a woman is a man's duty,” the organization concluded.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that Kazakhstan's social media is still abuzz over the tragic death of 19-year-old Madina Rashidkyzy in the Zhambyl region. According to relatives and posts on Kaznet, the girl suffered brutal violence from her husband after a domestic dispute triggered by a child's Barney cake.
