Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek announced new details about the development of a Kazakhstani drug against oncological diseases during a briefing at the government. According to him, the second phase of clinical trials is currently underway in Astana at the oncology center, reports infohub.kz.

As the head of the ministry noted, at this stage, specialists are determining the optimal dosage by studying patients' reactions to different amounts of the drug. "We will try to complete this by the end of this year and submit the drug for pre-registration. There is a specific procedure. The National Center for Drug Registration under the Ministry of Health is currently helping us as much as possible. They are waiting for confirmed results of the second phase of clinical trials. As soon as we confirm them, we upload them, everything is re-checked, and we begin the registration process. This is a penultimate step, and we are currently at this stage," Nurbek emphasized.

The minister also spoke about further plans: first, the drug is planned to be officially registered in Kazakhstan, then in the Eurasian Economic Union, and after that, work will begin to bring the drug to the international market.

Earlier, Sayasat Nurbek stated that the Kazakhstani cancer drug could be registered by the end of 2026.
