In the North Kazakhstan region, police detained a driver who tried to flee in a car with fake license plates, reports infohub.kz.
According to the regional police department, on August 12, drivers heading towards the district center of Mamlyutka witnessed a police chase: two patrol cars were pursuing a white Niva. A video of the incident appeared on social media.
"Police detained the 42-year-old driver near the village of Voskresenovka. He said he tried to flee because he 'got scared.' Such a strong reaction to the police order to stop could cost him up to 3 days of administrative arrest," said the North Kazakhstan police department.
The reason officers noticed the vehicle was a mismatch between its appearance and the registration plate. The man explained that while repairing the car, he had replaced the body himself.
Police noted that after such a replacement, he could have simply applied to the Specialized Service Center (SpetsTsON), where specialists would have helped with re-registration. Now, in addition to disobeying a lawful police order, the villager faces administrative liability for using fake state plates: up to 5 days of arrest and a one-year license suspension.
