In the first seven months of this year, investments in trade and related sectors in Kazakhstan totaled 637.2 billion tenge, a 22.3% increase compared to the same period last year, reports infohub.kz.

The highest investment growth rates were recorded in the North Kazakhstan and Karaganda regions, Shymkent, Kostanay region, Abai region, Mangistau region, and Almaty.

Almaty remains the largest center of investment activity, attracting 204.3 billion tenge over the seven months. In the Turkestan region, investments amounted to 88.7 billion tenge.

By economic activity, the largest share of investments went to wholesale and retail trade, totaling 246.6 billion tenge. Significant amounts were also directed to financial and insurance activities, real estate rental and management, building maintenance, and landscaping.

The ministry noted that new investments are aimed at developing trade infrastructure, expanding modern trade formats, and creating additional opportunities for entrepreneurs.

The Ministry of Trade and Integration, together with local administrations (akimats), continues its work to attract investments, support projects, and develop trade infrastructure.

Earlier it was reported that the growth rate of domestic trade in Kazakhstan slowed: in January-July 2026, the indicator grew by 5.9% compared to 8.6% a year earlier. Retail trade increased by 4.1%, wholesale by 6.7%, while sales of food products grew significantly faster than non-food products.
