Work is actively underway in the Mangystau region to renovate the emergency housing stock and provide citizens with safe housing. The project is being implemented under a public-private partnership, reports infohub.kz.
Akim of the Mangystau region Nurdaulet Kilybai reviewed the modernization projects for emergency houses in the city of Zhanaozen, as well as in the Beyneu and Karakiya districts. As of the end of 2025, the region has 61 emergency houses, which are planned to be renovated in stages, with residents relocated to safe housing.
In Zhanaozen, 25 emergency houses are to be renovated, including 322 apartments in the Vokzal, Shanyrak, and Shugyla microdistricts. Residents will be moved to new homes, and the old buildings will be demolished. In their place, new 180- and 160-apartment buildings will be erected with modern utility infrastructure and landscaping.
In the Beyneu district, there are 17 emergency houses: 12 in the village of Borankul, 2 in Yeset, 2 in Akzhigit, and 1 in Tolep. New homes will be built to relocate residents of Borankul and Yeset, while in Akzhigit and Tolep, demolition will be carried out.
In the Karakiya district, 15 emergency houses are planned for renovation in the Temirzholshy and Saltanat microdistricts of the village of Munayshy. To relocate residents, 5 apartment buildings with 336 apartments will be constructed.
The total area of new homes across the three territories will exceed 53,000 square meters. Construction will begin in 2027 and be completed in 2029.
The regional akim emphasized that providing residents of emergency houses with safe housing is one of the region's most important tasks. "The Head of State pays special attention to improving the quality of life of the population and providing citizens with safe and comfortable housing. We need to systematically solve the problem of emergency houses. At the same time, work on relocating residents, building new homes, and demolishing old buildings must be carried out in a coordinated manner and in accordance with a clear plan. Most importantly, strict compliance with the quality and timing of construction, and consideration of the rights and interests of residents. Work on each project must be kept under constant control," said Nurdaulet Kilybai.
Following the trip, the akim instructed the responsible authorities to speed up preparatory work and ensure high-quality implementation of projects within the established deadlines.
