A total of 29 million tenge in wage arrears has been paid to 165 employees of a utility company in the Mangystau region. The violations were uncovered by the Karakiya district prosecutor's office, reports infohub.kz.

Officials from the Karakiya district prosecutor's office analyzed compliance with labor laws at the state utility company Turmys-Service. According to Article 113 of the Labor Code, wages must be paid at least once a month, no later than the first ten days of the following month.

The analysis found that the company had been paying 165 employees late. Following a prosecutor's order, the workers' rights were restored: the wage arrears were paid in full.

For violating wage payment deadlines, the company was held administratively liable under Part 1 of Article 87 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan (non-payment of wages by the employer in full and on time, as well as failure to accrue and pay penalties for the delay period due to the employer's fault). Given the company's category, the fine may amount to 432,500 tenge; the exact amount was not specified in the prosecutor's report.
