Kazakhstani figure skater Mikhail Shaidorov has achieved a career-best third place in the updated International Skating Union (ISU) rankings, reports infohub.kz.

According to data published on the organization's official website, the athlete has 3,918 points. He trails only reigning Olympic champion Ilia Malinin of the United States (4,590) and Japan's Yuma Kagiyama (4,123), who is expected to miss the 2026/27 season. The top five also includes Japan's Shun Sato (3,639) and France's Adam Siao Him Fa (3,625).

Among women, the best Kazakhstani is Sofia Samodelkina, who ranks 13th with 2,155 points. The women's standings are led by reigning Olympic champion Alysa Liu of the United States (4,248), followed by Japan's Mone Chiba (4,164) and another American, Amber Glenn (3,671).

In pairs, Germany's Minerva Fabienne Hase and Nikita Volodin hold the top spot with 4,624 points. Georgians Anastasia Metelkina and Luka Berulava are second (4,365), and Americans Alisa Efimova and Misha Mitrofanov are third (3,244).

In ice dance, Britain's Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson lead the rankings with 4,307 points. The top three also includes Americans Madison Chock and Evan Bates (3,960) and Canadians Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier (3,467). Reigning Olympic champions Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron of France have climbed to 15th place after their first season together.

Kazakhstan's leading dance duo, Gaukhar Nauryzova and Boisangur Datiev, took 44th place in the new ISU rankings.
